Update Course Reading List via Canvas

IMPORTANT: Reserve requests should be placed a minimum of two weeks before they are needed.

Adding Reserve Material on Course website via Canvas:

  1. Go to your course website and log in as an instructor using your HarvardKey log in name and password. To get to your course website, go to Click on the “Courses” tab and select your course. Note: You must have administrative privileges to edit or add reserve material.
  2. Click on the link "Library Reserves" This is found on the left side of the page under the "Home" menu.
  3. To add Reserve material find "Manage Library Reserves" on the top right of page, then select "+Add New Reserve"


Things to remember:

Reserve requests should be placed a minimum of two weeks before the start of the term so that we can recall items currently on loan or order books Countway does not own.

We are currently not able to provide electronic access to materials that Harvard does not own.

Course packs may be placed on reserve at Countway. To do so, place a request for the course packet as a single item. The course packet may then be dropped off at Circulation and Reserves desk at Countway. Please note: All course packs must be bound or put in a binder before they are left at the library.
